Frequently Asked Questions

  • How are you different from other shops?

Everything here is a custom build, no cookie cutters that look like another. These are truly custom built to your specs, not our portfolio. We’ll collaborate with you to explore the options, but only to move you into what you want to do. Sure, we occasionally save our clients from themselves (think Homer Simpson decisions) but mostly we are here to make you happy.

  • How much will this cost?

We deal in custom restorations so each total is different. Bear in mind, we can’t control some factors such as how much rust lies beneath your paint (we’ll see that after sandblasting), or how inflation will impact parts and or shipping costs. But we are always up front and transparent about costs every step of the way.

  • Can you restore my truck to its former glory?

Yes it can; but we’ll actually make it better. Your gaps will be tighter. Your paint will be prettier. Your doors will shut better. We’ll pass “former glory” on the way to doing what we do.

  • Do you do rat rods or street rods?

We handle vintage restorations, classic restorations, rest-mods, semi-mods, modified. (We don’t manufacture parts. We refurbish, restore and repair to meet OEM specifications.)

  • Do you refurbish muscle cars?

Nope. We know our lane. Street rods (trucks) are the closest we get to cars.

  • What if my truck doesn't run?

That’s okay, some of the guys around the shop don’t run either. But as long as you can arrange for shipping or transport to Possum Holler, everything will be fine. We do recommend insuring it for the journey if it’s not presently covered.

  • How long will you take?

We have a wait list, so it will be at least one year before we began your project. You can anticipate another year for us to complete the work, depending on the actual job. So basically we’re suggesting you get on this as soon as you’re convinced and submit a project application here.

  • Do I have to sign a contract?

Yes, we’ll provide one and give you plenty of time to read it and sign… but we won’t work on your truck without.

  • What if my wife doesn't approve?

We’re sorry, but did you mean “ex wife”?

  • Will there be a return on my investment?

If you follow the truck scene, you know market values are up in the last 10 years. But market value is one thing. Restoring your high school truck has sentimental value. Getting your grandfather’s pickup back on the road has high family value. In any case, yes, we’ll increase the value of your truck at Possum Holler.

  • Can I tour your shop before we jump into this?

We’d love that, as long as you know we aren’t a bed and breakfast! But seriously, we’re a hard working shop so we’ll want to schedule your visit just to make sure we have appropriate time to be friendly and show you around.
